Pittock Mansion

Steve and I were able to enjoy a great fall day taking a tour of Pittock Mansion in Portland. The upper elevation brought some fog, rain and wind, so we were grateful to be indoors this day. Amazing creation for the time...our only disappointment was that there wasn't a great view of the city. We will just have to visit again!

Mac

Here's the kids doing what they love, yet another week. It will soon come to an end...

Boo!

What a great birthday present...a visit with Alexis and Bryan! I got a preview of her halloween costume. Trick or treat? I would treat her without a doubt.

Tigard

A surprise visit by Sydney...yay! We were able to get her to another game to see Jordan play some football. Too bad she and Kendahl didn't bring the varsity team some luck. Maybe next week.

Hillsboro

A fun Friday night outing to watch some football! We stopped at Red Robin before the game with Chris, Cori and Paco, yum. This was a weekend Kendahl was home, so a big plus to see her.

Missing Sydney?

Yes, missing Sydney! Here it is October and so many posts about Jordan. To be clear, it is not all about Jordan. Just don't know what the girl is up to and what she is doing. What I do know...she has the sniffles and can only be consoled by her dad :/ Jordan and I have determined he is the "pharmacist." He is always trying to push the pills down these kids...Tylenol? Ibprophen? Nyquil? Here, take this. (Must be that as a man he has no pain threshold?!) What else do I know? She likes to call home...homesick? Or avoiding homesickness by talking with us? Hmm. What else? Liking school, yes. Making friends, yes. Riding her pink bike? No. Can't wait till Thanksgiving Syd!

The Maize

Ready or not here we come! Here's the gang for the corn maize this year...haunted and not. We Mayfields are guilty when it comes to taking the kids for some scary fun. The only ones I worry about are Delany and Cody...they definitely don't do scary and I am proud they survived. For Delany another year and for Cody his first! The weather was cooperating and the rain held off thank goodness. It can get pretty muddy out there! The girls asked for a stop at Sonic and Steve was proud to drive them to Sauvies Island. I think they had a great outing together, as mom needed a time out from Jordan :)

Forest Grove

A picture is worth a thousand words...or in this case, we might just be at a loss for words!

Homecoming

A good looking group of young people! It's fun to see them all dressed up...rare to even see Jordan in a pair of long pants. Cody, Tyler and Jordan had matching sweater vests and Taylor was on the court for this year. Yay!

Century...Homecoming!

Surprise, surprise...look who went out as one of the team captains for the game. Hey, it's Jordan! I do think he is enjoying football this year. Now if the team could only get it together and get a win. I think all the planets have to be in perfect alignment for that to happen...we still have games to go, so let's hope for the best! Go Tigers!

Urgent Care

Yes, I said Urgent Care. Two x-rays and almost an hour and a half later, the diagnosis is that he has an inflammation of the lining between his lungs and his chest. I think it may have shaken him up that he couldn't breathe. Then throw in some pain to his chest, that might make you finally tell someone something is wrong. Duh.
Well, little buddy, I hope you are healing well and you have no further symptoms from this. I want nothing more for you than for to have fun and play but not at the cost of your health. Ochochinko, I am your biggest fan! Go Tigers, go 85!

Happy 22nd

Thanks for the belated anniversary gift honey, what a nice weekend. A distraction from dropping off the baby girl anyways! I know you are sad but we will get used to her being gone. From the wine to the flowers, thank you. Love you much.

and so it goes...

...it just figures that Jordan comes home and is pretty excited he will be starting defense for Fridays varsity game. He says," You're going to miss my first varsity start." Brings tears to my eyes I can't be two places at once. Let's see, take Sydney to college or stay and watch Jordan play football. If you know me well, I WANT IT ALL!

ever after

Once upon a time...which led to this very special day. Here is the groom and his beautiful, blushing bride. And if she has anything to say about it, they will live happily ever after. Congratulations!

Glencoe

League play against Glencoe! It was wet and not too pretty of a game. In my opinion the first half was much better than the second. Guess the boys needed a stronger halftime pep talk!

Harley!

If it's not one thing...

...it's another! Good grief, I took the kids to the dentist this morning and guess what?! Yep, wisdom teeth for both them. And the dentist wants to take them out. Of course he does. Just get done with the braces and now wisdom teeth. What's after that? I hope they are good until they need dentures and they can take care of that need themselves.

Preseason vs. McNary

Friday night lights?! Jordan will have to dress for away games this year, he cleans up pretty well I would say. I know, I'm only the mother and a little biased. We got stomped but it was a nice night for a game. Ellie and Jordan had lots of Mayfield support this game with Tim, Marilyn and Alaina. Chris, Cori, Sydney, Steve and I. Whoo hoo, go Tigers!

Monday, September 6, 2010

Here are my babies, ready for school! The only picture at the Back-to-School BBQ this Labor Day. I think we just forgot to get the camera out, or maybe didn't think of it because all the kids weren't there. I don't know but how they change from year to year. Jordan an upperclassman and Sydney back to being a freshman, lol. I'm hoping for straight A's, just saying :)

Reynolds Part 2

Okay, same night but now the varsity game. Jordan said it was the first varsity game he actually sweated in, ewww. The boys got their win and rang the victory bell. Good ending to their first game on the home field! And before I forget, it is all about the new shoes! You gotta look good you know...and it's helpful for his mom to find him on the field! That's why he was so fast!

Preseason vs. Reynolds

Can you say touchdown? Yep, the boy had a touchdown in this game. It was pretty spectacular to see him run, and fast. Way to go Jordan!

It's September!

It's getting to be that time of year again...when the cooler weather sets in and the kids go back to school. When I can take back my house and keep the messes under control and the kids go back to school. When I can sit down and check my email without someone looking over my shoulder(or want me to make them breakfast) and the kids go back to school. I've got a theme going here, I guess I like when the kids go back to school!

Almost time...

One week until I send Jordan back to school. Oh my, a junior, an upper classman...one of the big boys! He has been working hard at getting ready for football, first preseason game on Friday. New coach, new program and the kid's seem to have a new attitude. All good :)
Academically Jordan decided at the end of last year he wanted to get an Honors Dipolma...he will have to stay focused. Great grades will take him a long way when it comes time for college. If we made up a "play book" for grades, scholarships and colleges maybe we could keep him better focused on what is really important. Hard work will reap him rewards. Let's stay in the game buddy!
I'm hoping time will not pass as quickly as it did with Sydney. Two years until graduation seems like a long time but I know all too well it is not.

To the one I love!

Twenty-two years after our "I do's" and I still choose you. You're still the one. I'm ready for twenty-two more, although we both know my memory is horrible and by then you may need to remind me you're still the one. That's what husbands do you know(and I know you'll be there for me). Happy anniversary.

Happy Birthday Nana

Today my mom would have been 88 years old. I'm missing her. I'm thinking about the things she has missed out on...a great grandbaby, Sydney's graduation and a new grandpuppy. And the upcoming event, Andrea's wedding. All these things would make her smile, laugh and shed a tear. She is missed but without a doubt I am reminded of her everyday. It could be from wearing something she gave me, seeing something around the house with a ladybug or smelling Sydney at night after she has washed with Noxema. Happy birthday Nana.

One month away...

...and then I will have to let the baby girl go. Thankfully, 30 more days because I am not ready yet. Her friends are starting to go too, Matthew moved into his room at George Fox today. I think Kendahl spent her day packing, she leaves in the morning for University of Portland. And tomorrow is the day Hannah has set aside for packing. She will leave Thursday for Pacific University in Forest Grove. I sure hope their parents are ready for the "letting go" part of this college experience. So, we're on the countdown! I have been collecting things for Sydney but what I need to be doing is collecting boxes of tissue. The tissues that will collect all the tears...from me...from Steve and I think Jordan is "good to go." Remember, he has Harley!

Are You Ready For Some Football...2010 version

And before I forget...Jordan weighed in at 190lbs., 5' 10 1/2" yesterday. My big boy is growing up (and he is not a ninja). He is healthy and ready for football. Are you?

changes

Next week our world will change...we will know something is different but maybe not be able to put our finger on what it is. I'm gonna put this out there so we will know why our hearts might be a little saddened. Today we had visits from Hannah and later Kendahl. They are leaving for college next week! I'm excited but will miss them terribly. Back to school barbeque minus some faces. Won't be dropping in for movies, dinner, games...Wow! I'm already looking forward to Thanksgiving. Never too soon :(

And she speaks!

Wow, did we really just hear the dog? And what is she barking at? Well, it only took ten days but she does speak. Simply said...Libby! She has been wanting to make friends with Libby so badly but Libby really doesn't want to give in. The two of them will get pretty close but no real signs of affection. Even eskimo kisses ever so carefully when they are sniffing each other and checking each other out. Harley has had patience but now follows Libby any chance she gets. Tonight she took off down the hall and the dog took off after her with a bark too! Play nice!

Her ears

Do I even need to say it? I love, love, love her ears but they are gonna be the death of me. At this very minute she is eating. One ear in the bowl, one out :( Oh, the other in the bowl, guess it's time to switch. Uh oh, we're going for the water bowl. Yay, she managed to keep them out this time. Can you visualize us chasing her down to wipe her up. Yep, she's going to be some kind of fun. We've got a towel in every room dedicated to her!

Will we be able to "let her go?"

God has been preparing our hearts to "let her go" for awhile now. "Let her go" is what I have named this phase where Sydney is outwardly showing us her grown up independence now that she is a high school graduate. An expression of her free will to tell us no, her know-it-all attitude that our opinions really don't count and that she knows best! Hmm, we will see how this serves her in the future. I have been told these new behaviors we are seeing are a natural progression if the circle of life and that it is God's way of making it easier to "let her go" come fall. I have faith that God knows what He is doing and that He wouldn't give us anything we aren't prepared to handle. The dad is in a mode as well...he is busy trying to help her get the things she needs for college life. Pretty much would give her the moon and back, nothing is too good for his Baby Girl. At this point, they will not be having any unsupervised shopping outings! In his own way he is busy preparing for her departure too. In the previous post I said Harley will fill the void of Sydney leaving for Jordan but why now did my husband agree to the dog he said we would never have? Does she make me happy? Yes. But this dog will be another daddy's girl just like Sydney...and like Libby. They all like him best! We have the replacement child and yes, we will be able to let you go Sydney...45 days until your departure. We will miss you and look forward to your return!

We bought a HARLEY!

Not what you were thinking, right? Meet Harley. She is a 10 month old basset hound and so lovable. She is so easy going, wants to meet everyone, smell everything and so far is very quiet. I am interested to find out what it will be that will make her bark. So far, she is making herself at home...I do wonder when she will forget where she came from and accept our house as her new home. As far as Libby is concerned, she is not so in love with her but I'm going to give her some time. And Harley is indifferent to Libby...has seen her, has tried to make friends with her but Libby isn't going for it. Right now she is snuggled in with dad, he is early to bed and early to rise but I think Jordan has his heart set on sleeping with her later tonight. Harley is Jordan's solution to Sydney leaving for college. Instead of Jordan sleeping next to Sydney on her floor, we hope he will be content with this big pup sleeping next to him. If this all goes well, Jordan will be able to "let Sydney go!"

And so ends another season of baseball!

State champs?! No, but the boys gave it a shot. They won two and lost two over the long weekend...I think the key to winning the state title is either to win the first two games so you are in the running or to host the tournament. The local teams of Pleasant Hill and Thurston were the two teams who played the championship game. Lol. I have to say, I am sooooo proud though. Newberg has been to this state tournament two years in a row. Awesome kids...talent and heart! And a great coach! Great season...thanks for all the great baseball.

Monday, July 19, 2010

She waited a long time for this day to arrive and here is her new smile...beautiful! I guess I should have uploaded backwards so her pictures would be in order. Ya know, before and after :) This version you get to see the fabulous "now" and just in case you don't remember the metal smile, there it is. Sydney was up and ready so early for her appointment this morning. Guess she was just too excited to sleep any longer...if you see her, I don't think you'll have to ask. She will just show you her smile which is beaming from ear to ear today. Good job on having patience Baby Girl.

Andrea's bridal shower

Today is Andrea's bridal shower, her big day is fast approaching. The theme of her party is "Linens N' Lovelies..."yikes! Sydney said I cannot get her lingerie, absolutely not, it's wrong. She didn't want me to visit the thought that the unmentionables would be worn for Clark and we just can't go to that place. Lol. Okay...so Andrea you will not be getting any cute under things from me. This may be a gift in itself! Sorry :) I will just have to hope your friends get some naughty things to embarrass you. Let the party begin!

Monday, July 12, 2010

this is what we do...

Yep, this is what we do. Lazy days of summer? No, busy days of summer! I must admit our schedule has slowed down, league play is over and we are waiting for playoffs to approach. Jordan couldn't be happier than to be in all that hot, sweaty catcher's gear. When he squats down behind the plate he makes it look so easy and all I can think is how badly my legs would hurt just after one batter, not one inning and certainly not one whole game. Yep, baseball is good.

Paybacks!

Okay my numbers were 15 & 4, just depending on where I was putting it. So if I overlapped do suppose I had 19? I really only spent one day sunning myself, it was the day we were at sea. And I decided to sun my backside since my front is always in the sun when watching baseball. So here's the payback...last year when Steve and I went to Florida I applied his sunscreen and apparently I missed a spot. Well he got a red patch above his shorts on his back. Oops, sorry. He got me back alright, I asked him to lotion my back and I have a crazy camo pattern going on. Bits that were red are now brown. What was slightly tan is now faded...pretty much splotchy. Yikes. Don't know how the sunscreen application is so uneven...do you Seven?!

Tuesday, June 22, 2010

What's your number?

Maybe you are a 15. Maybe 30. Maybe even 100. No, I'm not talking about your sleep number. I am talking about SPF. We are taking a trip on Monday and I decided on 30, 15 & 4. Different people, different parts and so on. Really I don't even know if a 30 is enough protection but the kids are already balking about wearing any of these. Jordan is Mr. I Don't Like Lotion and I Just Tan. Sydney is determined for me to believe she isn't fair skinned. Bahahaha. Let me just say, we need protection. We don't want to burn and don't want to eventually get skin cancer. Burning alone will take away some of the fun in our immediate future! So figure out your number and pack it! I'm ready to cruise!

Monday, June 21, 2010

How was your Father's Day?

Could we put anymore on our plate for the week? Yesterday we celebrated father's day with a family movie day...Toy Story 3. Yes, it was good. Very good. How is it I can even cry during these animated flicks? Anyways, Jordan was eating? sucking? licking? a Sugar Daddy. "Uh oh." Lost the "repaired" part of his front tooth. I was going to the dentist anyways today so he tagged along. They took a look and said they had time to fix him on Wednesday. Well, he is so-oo-o lucky. Dr. Spangler got done with an appointment early and fixed it today. Yay! Didn't know how we were going to try to fit an appointment in with football workouts, baseball and trip preparations! Well, it's off to Tillamook for two games today. Wish us luck!

Noteworthy

June 11, 2010, a date that is very noteworthy for Sydney. A completion of one phase and yet a transition to another. She was supported by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. From our "flirty" teen to our young adult! Congratulations Baby Girl!

Monday, June 7, 2010

time is flying by

June got here in a hurry and our heads are spinning. We ended May with a clean-a-thon over Memorial weekend. Usually we are watching Jordan play baseball but WOW, a weekend to ourselves. Time to clean in anticipation of Sydney's graduation party. Our kids were very compliant and got "evening passes" for good behavior. Steve cleaned the carpets so we strategically moved from one end of the house to the other to avoid being on dad's wet carpets. We even had a sleepover in the living room...too warm and too many feathers.

Sydney only has a couple days of school left, yikes. We tried to get a jump on the festivites as there are many events this week leading up to graduation. Saturday we hosted an open house for the girl and she was very happy to share this time with all those who have helped shape her into the terrific young person she is! And keeping with our motto to make memories with our kids, we headed out to 5Rock Ranch(former Flying M Ranch) to attend a dinner in honor of our churchs graduates. Let's just say we travelled many roads of Yamhill county to get there. And once there I made friends with our young servers who blessed us with such attention. I had my mouth full everytime they came to the table and was much like a bobblehead trying to answer them. Oh yes, I wear my dinner well :) Congratulations to all the graduates and thank you to the Turners for sponsoring Sydney.

This is May?

The weather is warm, the weather is cold, the weather is dry, the weather is wet. So much indecision. Some days I can hardly believe it is the month of May. This would be one of those days.

Sunday, May 23, 2010

on her own?

My daughter seems to think that upon graduating high school she will be "on her own." Bahahahaha! Just a minute ago over breakfast she says we won't have anything to do with her "having breakfast" when she's away. Dad made reference to her meal plan and it being paid for. "Hello, need our help with a loan to pay for school don't you?" And I just read her blog where she is going on about being on her own. Yes, you will go and live in the dorm. Yes, you will be responsible to get yourself up, fed and to class on time. Yes, this will be huge. Yes, we will miss you and you will miss us. But "on your own" means you are moving out with all your stuff and financially not depending on us. Are your mixed emotions ready to take that on? My emotions are not ready to let you go quite yet. College: the transitional period that leads you to be "on your own." I do love you Sydney, just not ready for you to be quite on your own yet. There are still lessons to be learned and we will be beside you all the way...cheering you on. Because YES, we do want you to be on your own!

Monday, May 17, 2010

Peanut butter jelly time

Not often, but PBJ today! Now, ICE CREAM & CAKE, ICE CREAM & CAKE, ICE CREAM & CAKE! Lol. Jordan, I find this funny and I'm laughing all by myself :)

Thursday, May 13, 2010

And in case you were wondering...

Kendahl's belly button is still cute! Don't know what's on your mind but evidently Kendahl's piercing was on Sydney's. Talk about random. Kendahl gave us a look at her belly...her very tan belly, that is sure to be cute in a swimsuit, on a boat in the ocean.

So nice!

The weather has been so nice this week. It figures, just as league play is ending we get a string of warm weather. No complaints...very happy it's finally here. In another month summer break will be here and I will expect no less than what I see today.

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

One month

Oh my goodness! ONE month. One month...graduation will soon be here. Yikes, one month!

Did I tell you?

...did I tell you THANK YOU? Thank you very, very much for a wonderful Mother's day. From my first cup of coffee...to the homemade chocolate cake. It was all soooooooooooooooooooo good. From the handpainted card...to the mushy card! It was all sooooooooooooooooooooo good. From the first hug...to the last kiss. It was all sooooooooooooooooooooo good! Thank you, thank you, thank you! xoxo

Smile!

Braces may soon be a thing of the past. Whoo hoo! Nobody will be happier than Sydney, who has had them on for awhile now. The orthodontist assures her this summer before she leaves for college. She has had a "slow" mouth...slow to lose her teeth, so slow that even the orthodontist got tired of waiting for them and just had them pulled out. Well, they are looking so pretty and soon her smile will be even brighter. Jordan has lucked out all the way around. He will not even have had his on a year...in two weeks he will be free of his braces. They were put on last June and he will have them off May 24th. Maybe now we will be able to get pictures with him showing his teeth!

Saturday, May 8, 2010

It's time

It's May 8th and this is the first spring day you could go outside without your winter coat. Yikes. It's time for it to warm up and time for me to be able to enjoy a baseball game without my fleece gloves. Time to be mowing the lawn every third day. Time to be sipping fresh brewed ice tea on the deck. Time to see flowers in bloom instead of dead ones from a cold, cold spring frost. Time to see flip flops. Time to stop turning on the heat. Time to be able to open the windows. I know, it's all in God's perfect timing but doesn't he know I am looking for immediate gratification? What He knows is that I will be the first to complain when it's 98 degrees. Who doesn't want it their way every day of the year

Thirty

Happy birthday to you Andrea...thirty. "30." 3-0...three, zero! What does that feel like? Any different than last Saturday? Two Saturdays ago? Thirty Saturdays ago? What will you do to remember this day? Well if I know you, your camera is in hand and you will document the day and the things you choose to do. Maybe the things Clark has chosen for you to do. Nevertheless, you will enjoy!

This post is just for Sydney

I pulled floss from the dryer this morning...the insanity has to stop! Ewwwwwwwww :)

Thursday, April 29, 2010

This post is just for Jordan!

I get my dental floss at the dentist office...bahahahah!

dinner out

Chips & salsa...yum. Grad Night fundraiser. Good reason to eat out. The kids ran an errand and met Steve & I at LaSierra for dinner tonight. They thought we would have to rearrange our rides for the drive home if either of us chose to drink tonight. They like to make sure we don't drink and drive...it's good to have our "parents" look out for us. This week they had a drunk driving assembly at the high school so they are especially aware of the consequences. Note to self : not only don't drink and drive but perhaps don't drink. No margaritas and no teen chauffeurs. We are home safe & sound and ready to be tucked into bed. This will be the same scenario for prom night...and grad night! Right Sydney?

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

cruising

Who's ready? Soon we will be cruising on a big boat from Cali to Mexico. Whoo hoo. The final payment was made today and I can hardly wait. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it is so ugly outside. At this very minute is windy and raining pretty good...my hubby says we are playing ball today too. If we do, it will be a cold one. I just want to warm up, so today I guess I'll start with turning the heat on! But come June I'll be counting on some sunshine.

Thursday, April 22, 2010

Oh, my girl...

My conclusion after reading Sydneys blog: not ready for the working world yet. Does she have a job? Yes. Between 8-12 hours a week. Today was Take Your Kids To Work Day and 1. she didn't work, just hung out with someone who did 2. she didn't have a full day. She was so exhausted she had to come home and take a nap. 18 and on the edge of entering life after high school. Will she make it? All things in time...

Monday, April 19, 2010

milk

Maybe we should bring back the milkman, I hear they are still around. Sydney was mad because we had no milk this morning and of course it's all my fault. "Now what am I supposed to do?!" Good grief, better make milk my number one priority today. And how was your morning?

baseball is my life, I just don't know it!

...sitting at the same table for more than 5 minutes, talking while you are dressing for work, riding home from the baseball field. All this qualifies as "quality time" these days. You sitting at your computer in the same room as me, texting me and falling asleep before you kiss me goodnight does not. Having a coffee date with me is good, inviting your brother is not. Although, I wouldn't have it any other way. Just a hello at a game is good, ignoring me like you do all the other parents is not. It is all about me, you just don't know it!

Thursday, April 15, 2010

date night

...maybe not what you think. Brother-sister date night! The kids went to see Macbeth at the high school tonight. Jordan even asked Sydney if she would like him to wear jean or shorts. He NEVER wears long pants but did tonight for her. Wow. I have to enjoy these small miracles one at a time...far and few between. My thoughts for the evening though is that he will never last. He closes his eyes at every one of Sydney's concerts, so this play will have to be fabulous to hold his attention.
Now do you want to talk about my date? He and I will be watching Survivor and no doubt I will find Steve sleeping. Can you see who is being voted off through you your eyelids? Will let you know...

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Tuesday

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and BE GLAD in it.
Psalm 118:24
I will be glad in it...I will be glad in it...I will be glad in it.

OAA: Out and About

Out and about with Jacki today...Beaverton Home Depot and Goodwill. The Home Depot is really not my thing but it amazes me how I can kill time there looking at nothing of interest to me. She bought outside lights...eight to be exact. I hope they work and we don't have to go back to return them. Loosely translated, this means I hope Trevor likes them and puts them up for her. So disappointed nothing fabulous at the Goodwill store either. I bought a book...not as if I needed one, I have several that need to be read already. Looks like there will be several rainy days yet for me to get them read. Anyways, always fun to go out with Jacki and see what kind of mischief we can get into before our kids or husbands start to look for us.

Pretty dress for a pretty young lady...

Year two of getting up before the crack of dawn to get to Portland for a prom dress giveaway. We like a well planned event and abby's closet is one of 'em. We checked in as number 108 and waited for a turn to look and try on dresses. Over 5500 dresses in all sizes, colors and styles. Just about the time we were on our way into the dresses we heard they already had over 1200 girls check in. Yikes! Glad we were in the front of the pack rather than the back. Sydney thought maybe a halter style and maybe poofy. Well, poofy was her perfect fit. She wasn't expecting red either. Surprise! Welcome to the unexpected and very happy with it.

Jump in and repeat this with me...

I LOVE MY FAMILY, I LOVE MY FAMILY, I LOVE MY FAMILY! Yeah, I do but here it is a Friday and it is a cherished routine to countdown the minutes until they return from school and work. Today with no school and my husband home from work, I am stripped of this. We were gonna have a little family time watching a movie last night but we all fell asleep waiting for Sydney to "get ready for bed!" So how long does it take for her to wash her face and brush her teeth. Geez girl! So this morning we watched our movie with coffee and now that I've fed them lunch maybe I can get them all to the shower. What a guilty pleasure to just hang out in your pj's. Uneventful and at the same time so eventful...Jordan is winning his millions playing poker on his itouch and dad is dancing in his "lounge pants" not his pajamas. Very carefully named so he can wear them anytime. Yeah, okay...as I am shaking my head. He is crazy. As for Sydney, I am sure I can find her doing something unproductive too. Just as it should be when you are given a day off! Ugh, I LOVE MY FAMILY! I don't think I'm gonna get a thing done today :(

early riser

Jordan has always been my early riser, so these teen years he is in have been welcome in the fact he has been sleeping in a bit longer. This morning he was awake sometime between 3:30 and 4 a.m. just before our alarm went off. I have always said his best hours are in the morning...snuggly and the wheels in his head turning! This morning he crawled in bed and says he wants an honors diploma. "Uh, okay." Does this kid know what time it is and that neither Steve or I have had any coffee? Now this occurs to him because his forecasting for next year is due today. Did we encourage this two years ago when he was starting high school? Uh, yes. He said he didn't want to. Well, better late than never. We like college credits without having to pay for them. The honors program has served Sydney well and if all goes well she may be able to complete college in 3 years. Yay, for both of 'em. Has the lightbulb come on? Are they getting it? Time will tell...I like immediate gratification so all the waiting is gonna kill me :)
