University of Nevada Reno
Nevada's preview day was called Nevada Bound... I don't know if Jordan is Nevada bound but he did like this school despite the cold, wet and snowy day we had. A couple days ahead of this he was able to meet the baseball coach and see the university facilities. Does he look like he belongs to the Wolf Pack? He definetely does not want to become a Raider like Sydney, so she will just need to grin and bear it.

Prom
Sweet! Jordan is Mr. Social so dressing up and going out and about with his friends is second nature. He and his date do look good. Thank goodness it is not raining...that will make a much better night out. They are dining at a friends(let's hope nothing lands on his white shirt, vest or tie)and then are off to Portland's Tiffany Center. He has many memories to make tonight. I can't wait to hear details of the evening...that's if he shares. I'm hopeful.

Baseball
It's that time of year again...baseball has started and league play has begun. Glencoe was the team of the week and we were able to get onto the fields. The rain IS still falling and the wind IS still blowing but with a few layers, gloves and a blankie you can bear it.

In the words of Auntie Mayme, "uninhibited"
This boy leaves me speechless somedays. I would say he is outgoing but that doesn't even begin to explain these images of him. He is downright too comfortable in his own skin! When we originally took possession of Uncle Jay's old long johns, he said,"no way!" About a year later he was all over 'em. Certainly strutted his stuff for Halloween. Most recently, he participated in the Mr. Newberg Pageant at school where he danced to Beyonce's "Single Ladies." Oh yes he did. If in doubt you can catch it on YouTube. It will surely bring a smile to your face, it did mine.

She's back!
Our "Harley girl" is on the mend...she has her spunk back and is busy racing about the house. With her excitement she also likes for us to hear her voice. What's not to understand about "no barking." I guess I should put in perspective, we have told Jordan things several times but yet he still does them. He is going on 18 years and as Harley is going on 18 months, I think I should lower my expectations. It is fun to hear Harley squeaking her toys as she carries them around the house. Never saw a dog get so much pleasure from a squeaker.

This is "It"
It was today that I discovered Harley really is a Mayfield. I picked her up from her overniter at the vets this morning and she came to me, sniffed me and then back to the door from which she came. There must have been other animals she met and lots of staff who she made friends with. Yesterday when we dropped her off she was so busy checking out all the new smells! She was drooling and foaming at the mouth. Yuck! Could have cared less that we were leaving her. Her daddy was worried she was scared and I thought maybe when she realized we were gone. Today I realized that probably never even happened. Like my kids when the left at the sitters or off to their first day of school...no separation anxiety at all! I guess we are good at "socializing" our kids and I guess I am happy to know they are good to go wherever they may be. The best news is no more doggie diapers! Miss Harley is officially an "it." And I say that with love. Well, vet bill: over $300...12 doggie diapers: $16.99...love of this dog: priceless! Good thing we don't have to send this one to college. Next goal: to get her to stop piddling when she sees Grandpa and Grandma.
